inCharge Intelligence

Help Shape the Future of Operational Intelligence for Direct Payments

Co-designing the future of operational intelligence for direct payments.

inCharge is already used every day by families and their support teams across the UK and Ireland to coordinate and manage self-directed care.

Through features such as the Daily Diary, Scheduling and About Me, the platform creates a single source of truth for everyone supporting the individual: improving communication, continuity of care and reducing administrative burden for families.

As local authorities face increasing demand, financial pressures and growing reporting requirements, access to timely, meaningful operational intelligence has never been more important.

inCharge helps put personalised care into practice. Now we're working with local authorities to better evidence its impact.

We're inviting expressions of interest from a small number of local authorities in England to become Reference Partners for inCharge Intelligence - a new operational intelligence capability being developed on top of the established inCharge platform.

Because families use inCharge as part of everyday life, the platform generates a unique, real-time picture of how direct payments are being used and how support is impacting people's lives. inCharge Intelligence transforms this day-to-day information into practical operational and strategic insight to support better decision-making.

Why Become a Reference Partner?

As a Reference Partner you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Help shape practical solutions to real operational challenges.

  • Ensure the intelligence reflects local authority workflows and reporting requirements.

  • Influence the future direction of the platform.

  • Gain early insight into emerging functionality.

  • Work alongside a team with extensive lived experience of self-directed support and a proven track record in co-design.

  • Join a small group of pioneering local authorities helping define the future of operational intelligence for direct payments.

You can choose how you'd like to participate based on your current priorities and available capacity.

Our Approach

Co-design has been central to inCharge from day one.

The platform has been shaped through extensive collaboration with people drawing on care and support, family carers, personal assistants, providers and sector leaders, underpinned by lived experience of direct payments.

This approach has enabled us to build technology that addresses real-world challenges while remaining firmly grounded in person-centred practice.

We're now applying that same proven co-design methodology to the development of inCharge Intelligence.

A person in a wheelchair is supported with eating by another person who is bent down and smiling in front of them. Another person is also in the kitchen, in the background.
A person sitting on a sofa in a living room, looking down at a tablet device and tapping the screen. The scene reflects the person using mobile technology like the inCharge app.

Supported by the ONEHEALTH AI Accelerator

inCharge has been selected to participate in the ONEHEALTH AI Accelerator, bringing together researchers from Queen's University Belfast, Atlantic Technological University, University College Cork and University of Galway.

Together, we're exploring how AI can unlock meaningful operational insight from information that already exists within the inCharge platform, helping local authorities make better use of the information already being generated through everyday care.
