NICON 2026 - Reset for All - Action by All
Reset for All - Action by All is the theme for this year’s NICON conference, and it’s one that resonates with me.
I’m looking forward to joining Jennifer Neff and fellow entrepreneurs for a lunchtime panel at NICON 2026, talking about innovation, entrepreneurship and what it takes to turn an idea into something that can make a practical difference in health and social care.
For me, the words “by all” are particularly important.
We have talked about person-centred care, choice, control and putting people at the heart of their support for a long time. But meaningful change can’t just be designed for people. It needs to be shaped with them - by people drawing on support, families, frontline teams, services, innovators and the wider system.
That is very much where inCharge began.
Not with a technology idea looking for a problem, but with lived experience. Years of organising personalised support around my daughter, employing Personal Assistants and carrying so much of the information and coordination needed to make everyday life work.
It led to a simple question:
Could technology make this easier while keeping the person, rather than the system, at the centre?
Today, inCharge is being used every day by families and their care teams and by person-centred service providers. Through co-design, we’re continuing to learn how technology can support better coordination while building a richer picture of what personalised care and support actually looks like in ordinary, day-to-day life.
Perhaps that’s what Reset for All – Action by All captures so well.
A reset shouldn’t simply give us new language for old ambitions. It should create the conditions for people across health and social care, including those with lived experience to help shape what comes next and, importantly, to turn ideas into action.
I’m looking forward to hearing what that means to others at NICON 2026, sharing some of our journey with inCharge and learning from the other entrepreneurs on the panel.
If you’re there, come and say hello. We will be upstairs in Riverview 1, day 1.
